WELCOME
Hi, my name is TYLER ARUT LIN
Starting my career in Manufacturing Operations and Digital Transformation, my roots as an Industrial Engineer from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo have taught me much about dealing with internal stakeholders, managing change, and adding value to processes and systems. However, implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems across multiple sites has led me to discover my passion for solving human problems with web and software solutions.
Thus, I’ve decided to return to school as an MBA Candidate at Boston College’s Carroll Graduate School of Management to learn more about management theory and business strategy. I aspire to take all I’ve learned throughout my professional, entrepreneurial, and academic journey to ultimately break into Product Management.

Masters of Business Administration Candidate | |

Boston College - Carroll Graduate School of Management |
Senior Industrial Engineer | Santa Clara, CA | |
---|---|---|
Keysight Technologies | Mar '24 - Aug '24 |
I was promoted as Systems Architect and expert on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for a newly formed Digital Transformation team. Initially, upper management believed an Advanced Planning and Scheduling System would solve the problem of poor move rates and delayed shipments. Understanding the importance of an MES, I developed a strong case to convince management to focus on the manufacturing execution and overall user experiences of shopfloor workers by eliminating 100+ spreadsheets, centralizing data collection, and standardizing workflows through software solutions.
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering | |

California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo |
Industrial Engineer | Biloxi, MS | |

Veterans Affairs Gulf Coast | Sept '21 - June '22 |
In a year-long project for the Gulf Coast VA Health Care System, I developed our customer interviews into engineering specifications, product requirements, and execution tasks to rapidly deploy prototypes for a UV-C sanitizing system for wheelchairs. With a minimal budget and limited timeline, I was able to manage stakeholder expectations and a team of interdisciplinary engineers to ship a high-fidelity and fully functional proof of concept.
2021
President and Founding Member | San Luis Obispo, CA | |
---|---|---|
Theta Tau | Apr '20 - June '22 |
Initially, as the Secretary, I created the organization's robust framework, operational procedures, governance system, and communication pipeline. I was later elected as President and was able to grow our operation into the fastest-growing interest group to become an official Chapter. This unique experience taught me a lot about influencing without authority, resolving conflicts in constructive ways, and most importantly staying organized.
Campus Ambassador | San Luis Obispo, CA | |
---|---|---|
The Coca-Cola Company | Mar '20 - June '22 |
Being a collector of Coca-Cola bottles and antiques, this was a dream job. In this marketing and sales role, I had to develop a good product sense in order to strategically develop partnerships and promote campus brand awareness. I ended up accumulating over 15k+ social interactions on my personal Instagram account.
2019
Summer Study Abroad | |
---|---|
Zhejiang University of Technology |
Pathways Extern - Technology Consulting | Remote | |
---|---|---|
RSM US LLP | June '20 |
Although a very short experience, my most valuable takeaway from this is the skills I developed creating McKinsey-style PowerPoints and delivering presentations in a B2B context.
Co-Founder | Cupertino, CA | |
---|---|---|
AiiZ Collectibles | June '15 - June '18 |
During high school, I had my first taste of e-commerce. I developed, manufactured, and sold collectable military-inspired products such as coins, tokens, and medallions on eBay and Amazon. I even got recognized as "Amazon's Choice" on some products!
Product Manager | Cupertino, CA | |
---|---|---|
Tokki.trade | May '24 - Present |
Tokki.trade was conceptualized as a K-pop photocard community marketplace platform. Since a large majority of transactions for photocards currently occur over Instagram and there was no dedicated US-based marketplace platform for this community, this product was created to better serve the needs of this market. My primary responsibilities involved developing comprehensive user stories, planning the product roadmap, and implementing innovative growth strategies to seed marketplace supply and increase daily active users.
2022
Industrial Engineer | Remote | |
---|---|---|
Keysight Technologies | July '22 - Mar '24 |
My first job out of college working in Systems Implementation was to support the data cleanup, transformation, and migration effort for the MES implementation effort across three manufacturing sites. I got to lead conference room pilots and end-to-end training sessions for the MES software; however, my greatest contribution was the overhaul of our PMO which ultimately created more visibility and individual ownership over managing a complex, cross-site and cross-functional project.
2020
Business Process Engineer Intern | Carlsbad, CA | |
---|---|---|
Viasat, Inc. | June '21 - Sept '21 |
Using Python data cleaning scripts, I leveraged KPI reports to identify and rectify data inaccuracies in Oracle, which saved the department over $175,000 in quarterly shipping expenses. This effort, however, wouldn't amount to much if measures to prevent future recurring instances weren't established. Thus, I set up standards for data entry by introducing new NPI templates for Oracle and suggested implementing new warehouse metrology solutions. I learned much about change management in this role and how small debts can compound into larger debts.
Technology Integration & Operations | San Luis Obispo, CA | |
---|---|---|
Prototype Vehicles Laboratory | Jan '20 - Dec '20 |
My first opportunity to manage change across an already established organization taught me how to effectively manage expectations and ensure alignment. It also provided me with a foundational experience in creating comprehensive user guides and training documentation.
Digital Marketing Strategy Intern | Paris, France | |
---|---|---|
Weston Mills | June '18 - July '18 |
I spent a summer at a luxury branding agency in Paris where I got to work with creative directors and content producers. This was my introduction to product marketing and luxury brand management.
2015-2018
MASTERY IN SOFT SKILLS
Management of Change
At its core, effective change management is effective people management, making it indispensable to any implementation or agile development scenario. It ensures that teams are rapidly adapting and innovating to remain competitively positioned.
Extensive Documentation
Robust documentation is vital for project planning, execution, and stabilization. It enables smooth onboarding, efficient collaboration, and effective problem-solving. Without it, projects can suffer from miscommunication, delays, and costly errors.
User-Focused Design Approach
A product's success hinges on meeting user needs and solving their problems; otherwise, it is destined to fail. Conducting insightful user interviews with well-structured questions is crucial for uncovering the full story and ensuring a user-centric approach.
Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is essential for leading technical developers and creative designers under stakeholder pressure. It cultivates understanding, effective communication, and problem-solving, ensuring team cohesion and project success.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Embracing quantitative and qualitative data-driven decisions is fundamental to effective management. It guarantees informed strategies, targeted innovations, and measurable outcomes that drive sustainable growth and customer satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement
To stay ahead in the dynamic digital landscape, I've committed personal time to mastering e-commerce strategies, honing product sense thinking, and deepening skills in front-end development, among other critical areas.
